Archers Cafe Website

They call it 'Archers Cafe' but I think they are underselling themselves because it's more of a high quality eatery, bordering on a restaurant. Essentially it's a family run Farm Cafe/Caravan Park with an incredibly talented team of chefs, bakers and generally nice people. We can't recommend highly enough (and we have no connection whatsoever)

Slyne Lodge Website

This is a truly fabulous building that has been through a number of incarnation in my lifetime. 15-20 years ago it had reputably over a £million spent on it transforming it into a very up market eatery and the interior work (in my opinion) is fabulous. They have a great range of ales & other beverages, together with a substantial menu.

Cross Keys Website

A lovely building with loads of character. A bit more of a 'chain' hostelry, but none the worse for that. A great range of beers and a menu I could choose loads from.

Hest Bank Hotel Website

The 'Hest Bank' has an incredible history.

It used to be a 'staging post' for those people who wanted to cross Morecambe Bay over the sands to Grange. It had a stable and and apparently travellers used horse drawn carriages to travel across the sands to Grange which had a reputation as a 'spa' town.

The present owners have a great range of beers (my favourite is either Landlords or Black Sheep) and a really good menu. I would thoroughly recommend it.

The Crossing Website

The Crossing is a Micro Pub situated right next to the West Coast Railway Level Crossing, so it's a great stop following a beach walk.

They have a fabulous range of beers from all round the country. They are true champions of the independent brewers because they get one barrel of each beer, and boast that they've never yet needed to repeated a brew in 4 years. The Landlord, Gareth, is the font of all knowledge regarding independent brews, and you are guaranteed to meet loads of local & interesting people.

NOTE:- It's a proper little boozer, i.e. no food, kids or music, but really dog friendly.
